AI or Proof of Reality?
(By Gil Gerretsen) When the world is going in one direction, there is often a powerful opportunity in going the opposite direction.
For some businesses, that notion may apply to their deployment and use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools with their prospects and customers.
There is no question that AI will continue to change the business landscape. The AI boom is officially a part of our societal fabric. Just as the advent of the internet and world wide web changed everything in the 1990s, AI is coming hard and fast. There is no stopping it. Within a few years, it will be as ubiquitous as online searches, email, text messaging, and social media are now. New tools and ways of doing things will emerge that will change our businesses and ways of life.
There is certainly great temptation for joining the AI bandwagon and in many instances, business will have no choice to leverage AI if they hope to stay competitive. AI can facilitate great improvements in efficiency and business costs.
However, let me present a slightly different mindset for consideration. At least with respect to your prospects and customers. Rather than AI being the next big thing which everyone adopts, it could end up facilitating an alternate route. Let's call if "proof of reality."
There are many people in this world who might appreciate the efficiencies that tech tools can provide, but they still value and appreciate the genuinely personalized approach. In fact, they may even be willing to pay extra for it. Or, favor the company that works this way.
In their marketing campaigns, such a company would showcase their "proof of reality" mindset through human messaging, human creativity, human attention to detail, and human-led delivery of their products or services. They may use AI tools and technology behind the scenes, but the face of the company would be human focused.
As AI continues to gain traction, now might be the time to start considering your future utilization of AI technologies. Will AI drive the customer experience or will your "proof of reality" provide a better path forward?
