Using Google Trends For Marketing
(By Gil Gerretsen) Did you know that Google provides a very useful marketing tool that few professional rainmakers know about? Even fewer leverage it to their advantage. It's called Google Trends.
An important part of boosting your marketing reach and impact is knowing the questions people are currently asking and then providing useful answers on a timely basis.
You can use Google Trends for developing relevant social media content, getting competitor insights, conducting brand awareness analysis, and even forecasting product demand.
For example, you can do a head-to-head search term comparison of your company versus a competitor by entering yourself in one panel and your competitor in another. You can even segment Google users by their type of search (web search, image search, Google shopping, and YouTube search). This can help see how people are searching (images, videos, etc.) in comparison to competitors.
If you'd like to know more about how to use Google Trends, here's a YouTube video produced by Google to show you how to use this tool >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzHd2vusBRg
