How To Handle A Business Crossroad
(By Gil Gerretsen) Life is full of uncertainty. Too many people seem to park their car until they have a clearer picture of what the future holds. However, you can't steer a parked car. That generally doesn't work out to well. The steering is much easier, and the horizon reveals itself best, when you keep moving towards it.
When entrepreneurs encounter a crossroads or business plateau, it’s vital that they always keep moving while carefully making strategic adjustments. In fact, EVERYBODY needs to keep moving. If you just park, then other people on the road will zoom past you. Or crash into you.
If you are at a crossroads or plateau in life, it's fine to take a quick look around to check for traffic and decide whether you need to turn left or right or continue straight. Just don't sit still too long. There's an interstate of opportunity waiting for you. Keep moving towards it as best you can. Don’t get frozen in place.
You need to make decisions. You can't drag the process out. Your decisions all carry a risk. There can be no guarantees. So make the best choices you can, knowing there will be results and consequences whichever way you go. Keep your eyes open and on the road ahead. Trust in your driving skills. Share the road nicely with others.
The bottom line is that if you keep moving, then the steering gets a lot easier.
